Break It Down

It’s hard to describe how finals week feels… It is relaxing and immensely stressful at the same time. Relaxing, because there are far fewer time commitments, but more stressful because, duh, finals. I’m lucky to be have had a super-short finals week; I was finished Tuesday by 2 pm, but I have friends who are still going full speed until next Monday and Tuesday!

In my last post, I said that I was so ready for this semester to be over. And while I am very glad that I’m done and home, it still doesn’t quite feel over until my grades are in—I am anxiously and excitedly awaiting them, checking the online gradebook multiple times per day. I’m so glad that life can slow down a bit now; sure, I’ll be working again starting next week, but it’ll still be a change of pace (in the decreasing direction).

Other things I’m looking forward to this break:

My own bed. Real, home-cooked food. Having the time to take care of some of the random things that I haven’t been able to do at school. NO HOMEWORK. Being around family. And, of course, I get to enjoy one of the best parts about winter: Christmas. Christmas music, Christmas shopping, Christmas decorating, Christmas snow, Christmas spirit. I think that the only downside is missing my Buffalo peeps, but even that will be okay; we’ll keep in touch well enough.

I’m enjoying this break thing.

Lots of love,

Maggie
